love and affection are way more effective tools than strictness

a year back, i used to teach at the local high school. teaching the young generation of today, taught me a lot about the behavior of these children. i always wondered how willing these children were to resort to any way lawful or unlawful, to get the grades that they wanted. some had really strict parents who had scared them about sending them to a strict boarding school if they do not maintain a certain grade report. some were scared that they will be kicked off from the sports team of the school if they do not maintain their grades. i always thanked god that these children do not know How To Connect From One Computer To Another or the school's grade reports would have been a mess! i have always told the parents during meetings to go easy on their children for they do not know that pushing the children too hard might actually corner them into resorting to unlawful means such as cheating on tests to make their parents happy. in the end the parents or the guardians might be responsible to push the children into doing something that is hard on their character and conscience.
