Setting a Good Fitness Example

There is evidence that many children are not getting as much exercise as they should. This is something which is leading to childhood obesity and meaning that the next generation is very unhealthy. This can be pretty scary for parents, but some feel that everything is good because their children are not overweight. However, even if they are not overweight now, they could become so if they do not learn good eating and exercise habits from a young age. Children tend to be quite active, but as we get older we sit around more and more and this means that we start to put on weight. If we are not eating well, then this can get even worse.

It is therefore a really good idea to set a good example to your children. Make sure they understand about the importance of being fit and healthy and doing regular exercise. You will need to lead by example and make sure that they see you exercising so that they think this is something very normal, that they need to do as well.

If you do not exercise at the moment, then you need to find a way to introduce it in to your daily routine. You need to think about what sports or forms of exercise you enjoy and do those regularly. We should be exercising for at least 30 minutes every day, but the more we can do the better. If you have not exercised for a while and need something to get you going or if you do not know what you would like to do, then going on an exercise boot camp could help. It will get you in to the right frame of mind and you will be able to try lots of different exercises, which will give you an idea of what you enjoy doing the most.
