Houses which were Sadly Never Really Ours

It is a sad reality that despite my parents&rsquo best efforts, having worked so hard all their lives, we never really had a place that we could proudly call our own. We have been renting for as long as I can remember. It&rsquos funny because when my siblings and I were much younger, we thought we were so rich and we had so many houses, because we used to transfer a lot &ndash in search of more affordable house or apartment to rent. Some were beautiful, complete with felt roofing and more, while others were not as beautiful. But it was only when I was in high school that I eventually understood that we didn&rsquot have our own house. But as I grew up, I realized that it wasn&rsquot only me or my family, who didn&rsquot have a house. Many of my classmates were only renting, too. I felt very sad. I wonder how it was possible for a family not to have a house, which I believe is a basic need. Shouldn&rsquot the government provide a decent home to every citizen? I just wonder.
